WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State baseball team prepares for an action-packed week against Mount Mercy University on Tuesday, March 25th and against Bemidji State University on Thursday, March 27th and Friday, March 28th.
The Warriors and the Mustangs will play a doubleheader on March 25, with the first pitch set for 1:00pm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Winona State and Bemidji State will play on March 27 and 28, with the first pitch set for 1:30pm on Thursday and 12:00pm on Friday. The series against Bemidji State has been site reversed to Winona, Minn and will be played at Loughrey Field on the campus of Winona State University.
Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors are 9-10 overall and 6-6 in the NSIC coming into the weekend.
- Cole Fuecker is leading the way at the plate for Winona State in runs scored with 25 in 28 hits, doubles with six, home runs with three, and RBIs with 18.
- Garrett Hietpas is leading WSU in on-base percentage with .600, and batting average with .474.
- Alex Berreth is tied for second in the NSIC in triples with two.
- George Henkel is leading all pitchers with two wins on the season and hold a 1.59 ERA in three appearances.
- Boyd Skelley is leading the team in innings pitched with 14.1 and holds a 0.00 ERA with a 0.63 WHIP.
- Cole Stanchina is leading in strikeouts with 20, and Mason Beltrand has appeared in five games and recorded two saves.
Mount Mercy Notes:
- The Mustangs are 14-11 overall and 8-4 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference coming into the weekend.
- Griffen Bushnell and Eric Pearson are leading the team, each with a .500 batting average.
- Jaden Hackbarth is leading Mount Mercy in hits with 30.
- Derek Einertson and Hackbarth are leading the team, each with 19 RBIs.
- Jeremy Figueroa is leading the Mustangs in home runs with four.
- Owen Coffman, Tyler Nagelbach, and Jack Turgasen lead all pitchers with three wins each, Coffman is leading the team in innings pitched with 28.2.
- Cole Conner leads all relievers in saves with three.
Bemidji State Notes:
- The Beavers are 1-17 overall and 0-12 in the NSIC coming into the weekend.
- Ben Corradi leads the team with a .375 batting average.
- Beau Thoma, Noah Drusch, and Zach Evenson are leading the Beavers in hits with 13.
- Evenson is leading all batters in RBIs with 10 and home runs with four.
- Derek Hoffman leads all pitchers with one win and innings pitched with 15.0.
- Cole Smith leads all relievers in saves with one.
