Box Score SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Winona State University women's tennis team traveled to Sioux Falls, S.D. to face off against the University of Sioux Falls dropping the contest 4-3.
Winona State found themselves taking the doubles point early on, but a comeback from the Cougars would slightly edge the Warriors taking four points in singles play, earning the win.
Doubles Action:
The Warriors came out hot to begin doubles action, with the No. 1 doubles duo Halle Rosentreter and Lainy Ristau taking their match 6-3. Skylar Gary and Alexandra Madjun saw themselves in a close match at No. 2 doubles, eventually coming out victorious 6-4 and taking the doubles point for the Winona State.
Singles Action:
Skylar Gary competed in the No. 1 singles spot dropping the first match, but taking the next two in thrilling fashion. Clara Thoemke would continue to play well for WSU winning her No. 3 singles play 7-6, 7-5 for the Warriors final point on the match.
The Warriors are next in action on Saturday, April 5 against the Bemidji State University at 4pm in Bemidji, Minn. for their final NSIC doubleheader weekend of the regular season.
