SMITHVILLE, Mo. - The Winona State University women's golf team competed hard at the 2025 NSIC Women's Golf Championship, placing fifth overall.
In round one at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex,
Megan Young led the way for the Warriors, shooting a 79 (+7), followed shortly by
Ellie Behring carding an 80 (+8) and
Georgia Volley 81 (+9). Rounding out the Warriors were
Kelby Anderson and
Kessa Mara, both shooting an 87 (+15).
At the beginning of round two, the Warriors found themselves in seventh place. Behring and Volley both carded a 79 (+7) on the day, followed by
Megan Young shooting an 82 (+10),
Kelby Anderson 83 (+11), and
Maeve McDougal subbing in scoring an 84 (+12).
On the final day of the NSIC Women's Golf Championship, the Warriors shot a 314 (+26), with freshman
Megan Young leading the way against WSU. Young carded an impressive 74 (+2) for the Warriors, earning her an eighth-place finish individually.
Ellie Behring continued her steady play, shooting an 80 (+8) in round three, finishing in a tie for 12th individually with a score of 239 (+23).
Georgia Volley finished her third round, carding an 81 (+9) for WSU, finishing with a total score of 241 (+25), tying for 16th place individually.
Kelby Anderson carded her best in round three, scoring a 79 (+7) on the day for a 249 (+33) overall, placing 35th individually.
Kessa Mara carded an 82 (+10) for WSU, subbing back in for round three.
