WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State baseball team prepares for an action-packed week against St. Cloud State University on Tuesday, April 29th, and against Wayne State College on Friday, May 2nd, and Saturday, May 3rd.
The Warriors and the Huskies will play a doubleheader on April 29th, with the first pitch set for 1:30pm in St. Cloud, Minn. Winona State and Wayne State will play on May 2nd and 3rd, with the first pitch set for 12:00pm on Friday and 12:00pm on Saturday. The series against the Wildcats will be played in Wayne, Neb.
Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors are 21-24 overall and 17-18 in the NSIC.
- Easton Arendt leads the Warriors in batting average at .390 and on-base percentage at .519.
- Cole Fuecker leads the team in at-bats (186), runs (52), hits (65), RBIs (42), and home runs (9).
- Klayton Hawkins leads WSU in slugging percentage at .679.
- Pierce Gritzmaker, George Henkel, and Mason Beltrand are leading Winona State on the mound, each with three wins on the season.
- Wesley Johnson is leading all pitchers in innings pitched at 38.0.
- Cole Stanchina leads all pitchers in strikeouts with 38 in 27.2 innings pitched.
St. Cloud State Notes:
- The Huskies are 23-22 overall and 19-16 in the NSIC.
- Ethan Navratil is leading the team in batting average (.354), hits (58), RBIs (50), and home runs (9).
- Jonathan Pribula leads SCSU in slugging percentage at .600.
- Cael Kolacia leads the Huskies on the mound with 56.2 innings pitched.
- Bryce Brassfield leads all pitchers in strikeouts with 52.
- Frankie Volkers leads all relievers in saves with eight.
Wayne State Notes:
- The Wildcats are 26-18 overall and 22-13 in the NSIC.
- Brayden Chaney, Noah Strizek, Keagan McLaughlin, and Tyler Obrecht lead the team in batting average each with .333.
- Chase Douglas leads the team in hits (50) and at-bats (165).
- Cam Madsen leads WSC in runs (41), Max Heard leads the team in RBIs (43) and home runs (7).
- Jackson Shelburne leads all pitchers in innings with 45.0.
- Braden Cannon leads all relievers in saves with nine.
