BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Winona State University women's tennis team faced off against Bemidji State University to begin their NSIC weekend, dropping the contest in closely contested fashion 3-4.
Doubles Action:
The Warriors continued to play well in doubles, dropping the No. 1 doubles, but quickly responding with
Skylar Gary and
Alexandra Madjun taking the No. 2 doubles 6-2. Deciding the doubles point in the No. 3 doubles spot was
Clara Thoemke and
Miranda Daulong, taking the match 7-5.
Singles Action:
Singles play would mark one of the closest matches this season with four of the matches reaching overtime.
Clara Thoemke earned a big win in the No. 3 singles spot winning 6-1, 6-4. and the final WSU point came from
Alexandra Madjun in the No. 6 singles spot winning 6-0, 6-6, 7-4.
The Warriors are next in action on Sunday, April 5 at 9am when they face off against the University of Minnesota Crookston to close out their NSIC weekend.
