WATERLOO, Iowa - The Winona State University women's golf team traveled to Waterloo, Iowa to compete at the Upper Iowa Invite where six teams competed from the midwest with the Warriors taking home first as a team and clearing the podium individually.
Winona State dominated the field, winning by 49 strokes. WSU shot a 642 (+66) while UW-Parkside came in second with a 691 (+115).
Ellie Behring led Winona State taking first place overall in the field of 32 shooting two round score of 158 (+14). Following Behring was fellow Warrior
Kelby Anderson just a stroke behind at 159 (+15) shooting a 76 (+4) on day two.
Georgia Volley tied for third place earning a spot on the podium carding a two round score of 162 (+18). Fellow freshman to Volley was
Megan Young finishing in a tie for sixth shooting a 164 (+20).
Maeve McDougal rounded out the Warriors as a team earning top 15 honors carding a 175 (+31).
Kessa Mara competed as an individual on the weekend finishing in 16th carding a 179 (+35).
The Warriors are next in action on Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15 where they travel to Wayne, Nebraska for the Wilcat Classic.
