MEN'S AND WOMEN'S GOLF TO TEE OFF AT TROY BURNE GOLF CLUB

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University men's and women's golf teams are set to tee off at the Maverick Invitational and Golden Bear Invitational on Monday, September 15th and Tuesday, September 16th.
 
Winona State men's golf will compete at the Maverick Invitational at Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, Wis. The women's team will also compete at Troy Burne Golf Club in the Golden Bear Invitational.
 
The Warriors women's team looks to build off a strong showing at their season opening invitational in Blue Springs, Mo. While WSU's men's team prepares to begin their 2025 season after being selected first in the NSIC preseason rankings.

Women's Golf Notes:
  • Winona State finished seventh out of eighteen teams in the season opening Central Region Fall Preview.
  • Lindsey Lund finished top twenty out of all the golfers at the Central Region Fall Preview.
  • WSU was selected third in the NSIC preseason coaches' poll.
  • Megan Young led all golfers at the Central Fall Region Preview with Par 5 scores, averaging 4.63 throughout the invite with an overall score of -3.
  • Head Coach Jeff Straight enters his tenth season as the Warriors men's and women's head coach.
Men's Golf Notes:
  • Winona State was selected first in the NSIC preseason coach's rankings.
  • Peyton Coahran was voted the NISC preseason men's golf athlete of the year.
  • WSU secured 71 points in the 2025 NISC Men's Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • The Warriors return all of their golfers from the 2024-2025 season and look to begin the fall season with a strong start.
