WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University football team will host Minot State in a NSIC showdown at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 20th at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.
The NSIC matchup will feature two teams who will look to rebound after both teams lost last week in their NSIC matchups. Winona State fell to MSU Moorhead 45-21 and Minot State came up short against Concordia-St. Paul 27-21.
The Warriors lost last year's matchup 56-23 in Minot, N.D.
WSU is excited to announce all ticketing will be fully digital this year. All fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online before arriving at the venue.
Cash will not be accepted at the gate.
Winona State invites all fans to participate in the Warrior Game Day Experience, beginning at 11:00am at the intersection of Johnson and Mark streets on the campus of WSU. Kickoff for the home opener will be at 1:00pm in Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.
The Warriors will continue the football luncheon this year at the Riverport Inn & Suites at 12pm every Thursday throughout the football season.

- The Warriors (1-2, 1-1 NSIC) enter the 2025 season voted to finish ninth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Brian Curtin is in his first year as head coach of the Warriors.
- WSU finished 3-3 at home last season and 3-2 in 2023.
- Winona State is 6-1 all-time against Minot State.
- Quarterback Jackson Flottmeyer will look to lead the offensive charge. Flottmeyer is 46-of-82 with three TD passes and three picks on the 2025 campaign.
- Anthony Powell will look to stay hot on the ground after recording his third rushing touchdown on the season last week. Powell averages 4.3 yards per carry on his 38 attempts this season.
- The Warriors Jake Schultz and Joe Sikma will be relied on heavily in the receiving game, as each receiver has recorded over 100 yards on the season. Schultz has amassed 119 yards, and Sikma is right behind with 114 receiving yards on a team leading 15 receptions.
- The defense will turn to Blake Schraufnagel, Jacob Anderson, Brent Jeske, Griffin Weigel, Ethan Doucette, and David Nies to hold down the fort. All five players have 13 or more tackles on the 2025 campaign.
- Conner Haggerty is also a key player on the Warrior defense, as he has a team leading 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles with his 11 tackles.
- Following this week's game, the Warriors will hit the road and face #9 Augustana University on Saturday, September 27th at 1:00pm in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Minot State Notes:
- The Beavers (0-3, 0-2 NSIC) enter the 2025 season voted to finish tenth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Minot State enters the weekend after a narrow loss to Concordia-St Paul 27-21 in last week's NSIC matchup.
- MISU is eleventh in the NSIC in offensive as they average 14.7 points per game while being eighth in yards/game with 332.3.
- The Beavers rely heavily on the run game as they average a NSIC leading 290.0 yards per game.
- Devan Daniels will be the player to watch on offense as he averages 127.67 rushing yards per game and a staggering 7.1 yards per attempt.
- Defensively, Minot State is led by Brayan Augustin who has a team leading 15.0 tackles while Julian Kameristy has 13.0 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, and a fumble recovery on the 2025 season.
- Following this weekend, the Beavers will return home as they play Bemidji State on Saturday, September 27th at 1:00pm.
