HUDSON, Wis. – Winona State men's golf opened the 2025-26 season with a commanding 12-stroke victory at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl, with four golfers finishing in the top five individually.
Winona State jumped out to a 10-stroke lead after the first round, shooting 12-under par. The Warriors then were the only team to finish under par during day two, going -1, to run away with a team victory 12 strokes ahead of Concordia-St. Paul.
Peyton Coahran was atop the leaderboard after the first round as he shot a 66 (-5). After dropping a few strokes during day two, Coahran birdied three of the final five holes to win the tournament by one stroke.
Luke Maas trailed his teammate by just one stroke to finish tied for second. An opening-round score of 67 (-4) and a solid second round score of 71 with 14 pars secured the runner-up finish for Maas.
Javier Ramos Casariego went under par in both rounds, shooting a 69 (-2) and 70 (-1) to finish fourth overall.
Tyler Gandrud was the fourth Warrior in the top five, carding a 70 and 71 to finish the event one-under par and in fifth place.
Logan Chouinard rounded out the WSU lineup with a bounce-back even-par 71 on the second day after opening the tournament with a 79 (+8).
Diego Olano competed as an individual and fired rounds of 72 and 73.
The Warriors will be back in action next week as they host the Jewel Invitational in Lake City, Minn. on September 22-23.
