WSU WOMEN'S GOLF FINISHES THIRD AT MSU/CSP FALL BRAWL

HUDSON, Wis. – Winona State women's golf battled to a third-place finish at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl, led by Kelby Anderson finishing sixth individually.
 
Winona State sat in fourth after shooting a 314 (+30) on the opening day. A second-round score of 316 (+32) helped the Warriors climb a spot on the leaderboard to finish third overall and second among NSIC teams competing. Minnesota State finished first with a team score of 599 (+31) to win the event by 10 strokes.
 
WSU's Anderson carded a first-round score of 74 (+3) and closed out the event with a five-over par, 76, to finish sixth overall. Anderson tallied 22 pars and four birdies across the 36 holes. Kessa Mara shot two rounds of 76 to finish 10th individually.
 
Georgia Volley carded an 83 on the opening round and an 80 with 11 pars on day two. Megan Young was just a few strokes back after rounds of 82 and 84. Lindsey Lund wrapped up the Warrior team score with rounds of 82 and 88. Maeve McDougal golfed as an individual and put scores of 87 and 85 on her scorecard.
 
The Warriors will be back in action next week as they host the Jewel Invitational in Lake City, Minn. on September 22-23.
