WINONA, Minn. – Winona State volleyball held strong in a conference play matchup, winning 3-1 against the Jamestown Jimmies.
Winona State started off slowly, losing the first set, but the Warriors rallied back with high intensity, taking the next three sets to secure the win.
How it Happened:
The Warriors struggled in the first set, hitting a match low 0.119 compared to Jamestown's 0.250, leading to a commanding 25-16 set win for the Jimmies.
WSU controlled the second set, edging out UJ (0.154) in hitting percentage with 0.237 while going on a match high run of six points after the set had been tied at 17-17.
Winona State dominated the rest of the match, winning set three 25-20 and the fourth set 25-18. Once again, the WSU defense helped lead the charge holding the Jimmies to only 0.100 and 0.158 in the last two sets.
