WARRIORS HOST WINONA COMMUNITY NIGHT FOR HOME OPENER

WINONA, Minn. – The Warrior gymnastics team gets ready to host UW-Eau Claire and Gustavus in a triangular meet on Friday, January 16th at 5:30pm.

The WSU gymnastics team turns their attention to UW-Eau Claire and Gustavus this week after a successful road stint versus UW-Oshkosh and DI opponent Air Force. The Warriors come off two impressive opening weekends with scores of 189.575 at the UW-Oshkosh Quadrangular and a 190.025 at Air Force.

Friday's meet will be the 'Winona Community Night' as all Galaxy, Kidsport, and ATM gymnasts wearing their club gear will get in free.

WSU Athletics ticketing has moved to fully digital this year. All fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online before arriving at the venue. Cash will not be accepted at the gate.

  • Frankie Jo MacAskill and Kaylee Bateman swept the WIAC Gymnastics Athlete of the Week Awards
  • MacAskill led the Warriors with an impressive 9.800 on floor and a 9.750 on vault last weekend.
  • Bateman tied the WSU all-time bars score of 9.800 against DI opponent Air Force.
  • Winona State has tallied two top 10 all-time team scores so far this season.
  • The Warriors set their all-time bars score with a 48.200 in the season opener.
UW-Eau Claire Notes:
  • The Blugolds recently defeated Gustavus with a total score of 187.300.
  • Highlighted by Hareet Gehlon's 9.575 on the balance beam.
  • Kinley Rose was a key player on the uneven bars with a score of 9.525.
Gustavus Notes:
  • Gustavus fell to UW-Eau Claire Blugolds 187.300-183.700 in their season opener.
  • Cara Wong led the Gusties at the meet winning the all-around title with a score of 37.525.
  • Zara Reboks was the all-around runner up with a score of 35.700.
