WINONA, Minn. – The Warrior track and field team gets ready to head to the Bearson/Gathje Classic hosted by Minnesota State. The event takes place on Friday, January 16th beginning at 2:00pm in the Myers Field House.

The Warriors are coming off a strong start to the season at the Chuck Peterson Open in December and look to continue momentum as they roll into the new year.

Winona State Notes:

• The Warriors had an impressive showing at the Chuck Peterson Open, finishing second overall.
• The 200m was anchored by Sasha Steinbach for the Warriors, with other notable finishes from Caitlyn Casella, Alyssa Larson, and Adalyn Barkley.
• Sasha Steinbach led the way in the 60m as well.
• Stella Richter tabbed a fifth-place finish in the 60m hurdles followed by Lexi Urbick.
• The Warrior's 4x400 team came in second, the team consisted of solid performances from Amber Gerrits, Stella Richter, Lydia Toshner, and Lexi Urbick.
• Delaney Untz and Chloe Fratzke placed high in the high jump.
• The long jump saw a key performance from Cecelia Dittrich.
• Ella Schueler led the triple jump for the Warriors, with 12.02m, Megan Kreul and Ava Krista weren't far behind.
• Sophia Taarud won the 5000m with a time of 16:47.30.

 Winona State will compete in 13 different events at the Bearson/Gathje Classic.
