WSU TENNIS SELECTED 7TH IN NSIC PRESEASON POLL; WARRIORS HOST SCSU ON SATURDAY

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Ahead of the spring opener for Winona State tennis, the Warriors were selected seventh within the league and Clara Thoemke was named the WSU Player to Watch for the 2026 season.
 
Winona State, who opens the 2026 spring schedule against St. Cloud State on Saturday, January 31st at home, tallied 48 points in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Augustana was voted to win the league with a maximum total of 100 points.
 
Thoemke, a senior from Inver Grove Heights, Minn., is coming off a Second Team All-NSIC season during 2025 after notching a 9-7 record in singles and going 5-8 in doubles play.
 
The Warriors are slated to open the spring schedule with five consecutive home matches before heading to Florida for their spring break trip in March. In total, WSU will play a 10-match league schedule with the NSIC Championships beginning on April 24th.
 
This week's match against SCSU will begin at 1pm at the Winona Tennis Center.
