MANKATO, Minn. – The Warrior track and field team headed over to Mankato, Minn. to compete at the Ted Nelson Classic hosted by Minnesota State at the Myers Field House.
Alyssa Larson set the tone winning the 400m with a 57.69s time, just shy of the all-time top ten in the 400m. She was followed by
Karissa Birch in the second-place spot with a 58.00s finish.
Sasha Steinbach finished second in the 60m with a time of 7.74s, tying for fourth best on the WSU all-time top ten list. She was followed by
Caitlyn Casella at the seven spot with a time of 7.93s.
Stella Richter led the way on the 60m hurdles with a 9.19s finish to earn fifth place. This finish was good enough to earn her the new ten spot on the WSU all-time top ten list.
Amber Gerrits was close behind in the six spot with a time of 9.30s.
Steinbach once again led the Warriors in the 200m with a sixth-place finish, with a time of 25.53, settling in at the new tenth spot on the WSU all-time list. Casella was close behind with a seventh-place finish, with a time of 25.90s.
Jenna Anders was a front runner for the 600m earning a second-place finish with a time of 1:38.95, adding herself to the new ninth spot on the WSU all-time top ten list. She was followed by
Adalyn Barkley, who finished close behind with a 1:40.70, earning a third-place finish.
Yasmin Ruiz-Ruiz was in pursuit with a sixth-place finish at 1:42.40.
Kylie Anderson and
Stella Rusch finished the 5000m at the one and two spot, breaking the old meet record and setting a new on at 17:23.67 from Anderson and a 17:30.43 from Rusch.
Kelsey Young was close behind with a time of 17:52.19.
Ella Voit finished second in the mile with a time of 5:06.52.
Samantha Harke finished seventh in the 1000m with a time of 3:06.93.
The 4x400 team of Birch,
Lexi Urbick, Barkley and Larson finished first with a time of 3:54.63.
Chloe Fratzke finished third in the high jump with a height of 5' 0 1/4" (1.53m).
MacKenzie Wissbroecker was the event champion in the long jump with 18' 5" (5.61m). Followed shortly by
Ella Schueler at 18' 1" (5.51m) in second place.
Schueler came in second place in the triple jump with a 37' 6" (11.43m) jump.
The Warriors will be back in action next week in La Crosse, Wis. at the Caged Eagle Open on Friday, February 20th.
