WARRIORS TAME HUSKIES IN 5-2 VICTORY TO END A WINNING WEEKEND

ROGERS, Minn. – The Winona State Tennis team bested the St. Cloud State Huskies 5-2 in their match today.

The Warriors successfully picked up the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles spot. A team of Clara Thoemke and Ally Burger won 6-4 at the No. 2 doubles spot. A team of Nikita Agrawal and Debbie Ogdahl won 7-5 at the No. 3 doubles spot.

On the singles side, four Warriors picked up wins, pushing the team to a 5-2 victory. Lainy Ristau won at the No. 1 singles spot (4-6, 6-2, 10-7). Thoemke won at the No. 3 singles spot (6-3, 6-3). Izabel Barr won at the No. 5 singles spot (2-1, retired). Kate Velander was the final winning Warrior at the No. 6 singles spot (6-1,6-3).

The Warriors will be back in action this week for their last home stint against UW-Superior and Coe College on Friday, April 3rd at 12:30 and 6:00pm.
