WAYNE, Neb. – The Winona State women's golf team took eighth place in the Wayne State Wildcat's Classic.
Winona State women's golf finished in eighth place out of 15 teams competing at the Wayne State Wildcat's Classic this week. WSU would finish with a two-round score of 626 (+50) with Nebraska Kearney taking first with a score of 602 (+26) and CSP taking second as the best place NSIC school with a 608 (+32).
Winona State was led by
Georgia Volley, who was the highest placing Warrior at the event finishing in 17th place out of 87 golfers. Volley shot rounds of 78 (+6) and 76 (+4) to finish with a card of 154 (+10).
Lindsey Lund was next in line for WSU with a card of 78 (+6) and 79 (+7) for a card of 157 (+13).
Maeve McDougal found herself in the top 10 for birdies carded with four in the two rounds and final score of 159 (+15).
Megan Young and
Kessa Mara, both found themselves tied for 42nd at the event with Mara shooting 80 (+8) on both days and Young shooting and 85 (+13) and 75 (+3).
Taylor LeMire rounded out the Warriors carding a 161 (+17) at the invitational.
Winona State will be in action next on Wednesday, April 22nd where they will begin their weekend long NSIC Championships.
