WARRIOR TRACK AND FIELD SET TO SPREAD OUT FOR BUSY WEEKEND OF COMPETITION

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State track and field team is set to divide and compete this weekend as a group of Warrior student-athletes head across the country to compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Cal State LA Twilight Open while another group of Warriors gear up to take on the Phil Esten Challenge.

The Bryan Clay Invitational is hosted by the Azusa Pacific Cougars Thursday, April 16th through Saturday the18th.

The Cal State LA Twilight Open will be hosted by the Cal State LA Golden Eagles, on Thursday, April 16th.

The Phil Esten Challenge is hosted by the UW-La Crosse Eagles, on Thursday, April 16th. 

Winona State Notes:
  • The Warriors are coming off two strong showings at the Ashton May Invite and the Minn State Open.
  • Ella Voit won the steeplechase at the Ashton May Invite finishing first with a time of 10:34.67. Voit's finish was enough to earn her the number one ranking in the NCAA Division II Central Region and in the NSIC.
  • Kylie Anderson set the pace for the women's 5000m at the Ashton May Invite. Anderson finished first in the 5000m with a time of 16:58.00, this earned her the number two ranking in the NCAA Division II Central Region and comfortably leading the NSIC ranks.
  • Lexi Urbick topped the podium with a second-place finish in the 100m hurdles, finishing with a time of 14.96. Urbick's time currently has her in sixth place in the NSIC.
  • Alyssa Larson led the way in the 400m finishing second with a time of 57.63, sitting seventth in the NSIC.
  • MacKenzie Wissbroecker finished second in the long jump at the Ashton May invite with 18' 3.25" (5.57m). Wissbroecker is fourteenth in the NSIC
  • Stella Richter finished fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.62s. Richter now sits as the new #23 in NCAA Division II Central Region.
  • Ella Schueler led an impressive Warrior lineup in the triple jump. Schueler finished second at the Minn State Open with 39' 1.25" (11.92m). She is the new NCAA Division II #23. 
  • Megan Kreul followed with 37' 4.50" (11.39m), finishing sixth and earning the new NCAA Division II rank of #73 nationally.
  • Ava Krista rounded out the Warrior lineup, finishing seventh with 36' 11.50" (11.26m) placing her 89th nationally.
