WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State track and field team readies to head to Mankato, Minn. to compete at the Minn State Open.
The Warriors set their sights on the Minn State Open this Saturday, April 11th, hosted by Minnesota State at the Mark Schuck Outdoor Track and Field Complex. The Warriors are coming off an incredibly successful weekend competing at the Ashton May Invite.
Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors are coming off a standout showing at the Ashton May Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse.
- Ella Voit won the steeplechase at the Ashton May Invite finishing first with a time of 10:34.67. Voit's finish was enough to earn her the number one ranking in the NCAA Division II Central region and in the NSIC, as well as ranking fourth in all of NCAA Division II.
- Kylie Anderson set the pace for the women's 5000m at the Ashton May Invite. Anderson finished first in the 5000m with a time of 16:58.00, this earned her the number two ranking in the NCAA Division II Central region and comfortably leading the NSIC ranks.
- Mara Talabac was the Warriors leader in the 1500m finishing 12th with a time of 4:50.78.
- Lexi Urbick topped the podium with a second-place finish in the 100m hurdles, finishing with a time of 14.96. Urbick's time currently has her tied for first place in the NSIC.
- Alyssa Larson led the way in the 400m finishing second with a time of 57.63, sitting fourth in the NSIC.
- MacKenzie Wissbroecker finished second in the long jump at the Ashton May invite with 18' 3.25" (5.57m). Wissbroecker is eighth in the NSIC.
The Warriors will be competing in thirteen events at the Minn State Open.
