BASEBALL SERIES AGAINST JAMESTOWN MOVED TO MONDAY IN SIOUX FALLS

WINONA, Minn. – The WSU baseball team's series against Jamestown has been moved to a single-day doubleheader on Monday, April 6 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The originally scheduled three-game series was to be played in Jamestown, N.D. this weekend, but due to weather it has been moved to Augustana's Ronken Field for a neutral site doubleheader beginning at 2:00pm. This is the first all-time meeting between the teams with Jamestown joining the NSIC in this year.

Winona State Notes:
  • The Warriors (12-15, 7-7 NSIC) are coming off a split doubleheader against Concordia-St. Paul on Tuesday, March 31 with WSU scoring a season-high 20 runs in their game one win.
  • Easton Arendt has been a consistent member in the Warriors order with a .312 batting average (24-for-77) and .459 on-base percentage while leading the team in starts at 25.
  • Dylan Harer, Adam Wall, and Max Pederson are all tied for second on the team in hits (21) with Wall powering the order with 20 RBIs and four long balls.
  • As a team, WSU holds a .259 batting average and a .377 on-base percentage through 27 games.
  • Sawyer Hoffman (2-2) leads the pitching staff with a 4.80 ERA in 30.0 innings, allowing 36 hits and 16 earned runs across six appearances. Hunter Guenther (2-2) holds a 5.29 ERA and a team-best 36 strikeouts.
  • Following their matchup with the Jimmies, Winona State returns home to face #15 Augustana University for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 8. First pitch is slated for 1:30pm at Loughrey Field.
Jamestown Notes:
  • The Jimmies (7-20, 2-12 NSIC) most recently split their mid-week doubleheader against Minot State.
  • Jamestown has tallied a .284 team batting average and .380 on-base percentage so far in the 2026 campaign.
  • Jett Nelson spearheads the lineup with a .417 BA and a .474 OBP with 35 hits while starting all 27 games for the Jimmies this season.
  • The UJ pitching staff posts a 9.08 ERA, holding opponents to a .340 batting average. Jamestown has given up 287 hits while striking out 164 batters in 187.1 innings of work.
  • Issac Hanson (3-2) leads the pitching staff with a 4.58 ERA in a team-high 35.1 innings, recording 36 strikeouts. He has allowed 30 hits and 11 walks in 10 appearances on the mound.
