WINONA, Minn. – The Warriors baseball team looks to continue its recent successes with a home doubleheader against Minnesota State and a road three-game series versus Minnesota Crookston.

WSU hosts MSU on Wednesday, April 22 with a first pitch of 1:30pm. Then, the squad heads to Crookston for a series starting on Saturday, April 25. First pitch of the series is slated for 1:30pm on Saturday.

Winona State split a doubleheader with the #8 Mavericks last year, including a walk-off hit by Ben Hefel in game two. The Warriors split a four-game series against the Golden Eagles in 2025.

Winona State Notes:

• The Warriors (20-19, 15-11 NSIC) are coming off a series sweep against the Wayne State Wildcats last weekend.
• Winona State enters the 2026 season ranked 10th in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll and have moved up to fifth in the 2026 NSIC standings.
• Head Coach Seth Wing is in his fourth season in the Warrior dugout in 2026 and his 14th year overall as an NCAA baseball coach. Wing holds an 87-103 record in his tenure with WSU.
• Dylan Harer is currently riding a seven-game hit streak with a hit in 10 of his last 11 contests. Harer went 6-of-11 in the series sweep of Wayne State.
• Max Pederson holds a strong .341 BA while drawing 28 starts behind the dish.
• As a team, WSU has a .266 batting average and a .382 on-base percentage through 39 games.
• Sawyer Hoffman (3-2) leads the pitching staff with a 4.73 ERA in 45.2 innings, allowing 53 hits and 24 earned runs across nine appearances. Hunter Guenther (4-2) posts a 5.26 ERA in nine starts on the bump. Both Hoffman and Guenther earned wins in last week's games against WSC, while both striking out eight batters apiece in their victories.
• The Warriors pitching staff composes a 5.13 ERA, good for second in the NSIC, with 292 strikeouts in 301.2 innings pitched.

 
Minnesota State Notes:

• The Mavericks (31-9, 23-4 NSIC) return to the diamond after winning two of three games against Minnesota Crookston.
• MSU comes into the 2026 season ranked first in the Preseason Coaches' Poll and currently sits atop the 2026 NSIC standings.
• Minnesota State has tallied a .302 team batting average and .424 on-base percentage so far in the 2026 campaign.
• Jake Berkland spearheads the lineup with a .368 BA, a .527 OBP with 58 runs, 49 hits, and 38 RBI.
• The MSU pitching staff posts a NSIC-best 4.08 ERA, holding opponents to a .234 batting average. The Mavericks have given up 269 hits while striking out 286 batters in 308.2 innings of work.
• Sam George (6-0) leads the pitching staff with a 2.11 ERA, good for first in the NSIC, in a team-high 47.0 innings, recording 44 strikeouts. George has allowed 40 hits and nine walks in eight starts.
• Fellow pitcher Mack Crowley (5-0) is second in the NSIC with an ERA of 2.35. Crowley holds a WHIP of .98 and has struck out 34 batters across eight starts.

Minnesota Crookston Notes:

• The Golden Eagles (22-17, 15-12 NSIC) are coming off a 1-2 series loss against Minnesota State. UMC travels to Bemidji State on April 22, before they take on the Warriors.
• UMC enters the 2026 season ranked eighth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll and are sixth in the current standings.
• Minnesota Crookston has tallied a .303 team batting average and .419 on-base percentage so far in the 2026 campaign.
• Jackson Fliflet powers the lineup with a .350 BA, 43 hits, 39 RBI, and 13 home runs in 2026.
• The UMC pitching staff posts a 6.12 ERA, holding opponents to a .289 batting average. Minnesota Crookston has given up 357 hits while striking out 243 batters in 312.0 innings of work.
• Isaac Wensloff (6-1) guides the pitching staff with a 4.30 ERA in 52.1 innings, recording 49 strikeouts. Wensloff has allowed 48 hits and 16 walks in 10 appearances on the mound.
