BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The Winona State women's golf team sits in the middle of the pack at sixth place in the NSIC Championship after round one.
After the first round, Winona State currently sits in sixths place with a team score of 320 (+32) and sits right behind the Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears who has a team score of 315 (+27). Augustana is right behind the Warriors with a team score of 321 (+33).
Leading the way for the Warriors is
Georgia Volley who is currently in ninth place individually after shooting a 77 (+5). Volley is currently tied for second in total birdies with three. Volley was able to shoot a 37 (+1) on the front nine and a 40 (+4) on the back nine maintaining a 77 (+5) scorecard.
Next up for Winona State was
Megan Young and
Lindsey Lund collecting cards of 78 (+6) and 80 (+8). Lund found herself in the top 10 for average scores on par 4s in round one with a 4.20. Young also found herself tied for fifth in total pars in round one with 11.
Maeve McDougal and
Kessa Mara round out the WSU starting lineup with each carding a 85 (+13) and 87 (+15), respectively. Both McDougal and Mara look to bounce back in the second round, as they have been key leaders to the Warriors team this season.
Winona State is scheduled to begin round two of the NSIC Championship Tournament, tomorrow April 23rd.
