WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State track and field team readies to hit the road to Mankato, Minn. to compete at the Todd Pfingsten Open and Tim Marshall Open this week hosted by Minnesota State.
The Todd Pfingsten Open is hosted by Minnesota State at the Mark Schuck outdoor track and field complex on Wednesday, April 29th at 1:00pm and the Tim Marshall Open taking place on Saturday, May 2nd at 1:00pm.
Warrior Notes:
- The Warriors had another standout weekend at the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite, with seven Warriors winning their events and multiple facility and meet records were set by the Warriors.
- Ella Voit set the new school record in the 3000m steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. Voit was the fifth fastest Division II finisher with a time of 10:27.32, which moves her up to seventh overall in NCAA Division II this Spring.
- Emily Meyer won the 3000m steeplechase in 11:23.61 at the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite beating the field by 1:10.
- Sasha Steinbach set both the facility and meet record in the 100m winning in 11.98s.
- The 4x100m relay team of Steinbach, Karissa Birch, Ella Schueler, and Caitlyn Casella set the facility and meet record winning in 46.75s.
- Lexi Urbick also set both the facility and meet record in the 400m hurdles winning in 1:01.89.
- Schueler won the triple jump setting both the facility and meet record with a 39' 10" (12.14m) jump.
- Kelsey Young won the 5000m at the Phil Esten Challenge in 18:07.45.
- Mara Talabac set a new personal best in the 1500m finishing 14th in 4:43.38 at the Phil Esten Challenge.
The Warriors are set to compete in eleven events at the Todd Pfingsten Open on Wednesday, April 29th. These meets are going to be the final tune up for the Warriors as they set their sights on the NSIC Outdoor Championships.
