Lainy Ristau earned her first NSIC Player of the Week award after a superb week on the court.
Ristau, a junior from Kenosha, Wis., won four matches in a 1-1 weekend for the Warriors, including a 6-1 team win over UW-Superior. Going 4-0 in two days, Ristau dominated 6-0, 6-1 in her singles win against UW-Superior in the No.1 singles and gathered a 6-1 doubles victory with
Izabel Barr against the Yellow Jackets in the No. 1 match.
Against Coe College, Ristau was the lone bright spot for the Warriors on the singles side, winning at the No. 1 spot against Coe's Sophia Fain 6-4, 6-4. On the doubles side, she won 6-4 at the No. 1 doubles spot with Barr against Coe College's Addison Leasure and Aisha Gurung.
Winona State (6-12, 3-4 NSIC) travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. to face the University of Sioux Falls and Augustana University on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11.
