WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State track and field team readies to head to Duluth, Minn. to compete at the 2026 NSIC Outdoor Championships starting this Thursday, May 7th through Saturday the 9th, hosted by the University of Minnesota, Duluth at the James S. Malosky Stadium.
The Warriors are coming off a successful meet at the Tim Marshall Open and are looking to carry that momentum into this conference weekend.
Winona State Notes:
- Lexi Urbick won the 100m hurdles and set a personal best in 14.18s after setting a school record of 13.87s in the preliminaries at the Todd Pfingsten Open. Urbick now sits at the rank of 44 in NCAA Division II.
- Mara Talabac won the 800m setting a personal best in 2:21.41 at the Todd Pfingsten Open.
- Three Warriors went 1-2-3 and swept the podium in the 1500m. Senior Kylie Anderson won in 4:38.79. Stella Rusch was close behind in second at 4:38.86. Ella Voit rounded out the trio in third in 4:40.30.
- Urbick won the 400m hurdles in 59.60s, setting a new personal best and moving to the new 19th rank in NCAA Division II at the Tim Marshall Open.
- Voit set the new school record in the 3000m steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. Voit was the fifth fastest Division II finisher with a time of 10:27.32, which is tenth in NCAA Division II.
- Kelsey Young won the 5000m at the Phil Esten Challenge in 18:07.45.
- The 4x100m relay team of Sasha Steinbach, Karissa Birch, Ella Schueler, and Caitlyn Casella set the facility and meet record winning in 46.75s at the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite.
The Warriors are set to compete in fifteen events at the 2026 NSIC Outdoor Championships this Thursday, May 7th through Saturday the 9
th.
