BIG RAPIDS, Mich – The Winona State men's golf team holds podium placement after round two of NCAA Regional Tournament.
In the second round of the NCAA Regional Tournament Winona State was able to remain in the top three with a team score of 576 (E). WSU was led by
Javier Ramos Casariego who carded a 69 (-3) in round two and is now tied for second place individually at the tournament. Casariego is tied for third for average scores on par four holes with a 3.94 while also being tied for first in total eagles at the event with two.
Next up for the Warriors was
Peyton Coahran who collected a round two card of 73 (+1) moving him to tied for sixth place individually. Coahran is tied for first in average score on par three holes with a 3.00 and holds a tied for fourth place in total birdies with 10.
Luke Maas closely follows with a round two score of 73 (+1) and a top 25 placement individually.
NSIC individual champion
Max Jericho, and
Logan Chouinard round out the WSU starting lineup with cards of 77 (+5) and 79 (+7), respectively. Jericho is tied for fifth in average score on par fours with 4.00. The top four teams from the Central/Midwest regional will advance to the NCAA DII Men's Golf Championships.
Winona State will tee off for round three of the NCAA Super Regional tomorrow, May 9th at the Katke Golf Club.
