DULUTH, Minn. – The Winona State track and field team set the pace for their first day of the NSIC Outdoor Championships hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Sasha Steinbach finished sixth in the preliminary 100m with a qualifying time of 11.97s.
Amber Gerrits came in fifth in the preliminary100m hurdles with a qualifying time of 14.40s, earning herself the new rank of 94 in NCAA Division II.
Lexi Urbick came in sixth and qualified with a time of 14.45s.
Steinbach earned another sixth-place finish in the preliminary 200m with a personal best time of 24.53s to qualify her.
Alyssa Larson came in third in the preliminary 400m with a personal best of 55.70s. Larson's time was good enough to qualify her as well as earn her the new rank of 83 in NCAA Division II.
Karissa Birch qualified as well with a new personal best and fifth place finish in 56.06s.
Urbick finished first in the preliminary 400m hurdles with a stellar time of 59.53s, qualifying her for tomorrow. Urbick's time not only shattered the facility record, but was a new personal best, and earned her the new rank of 20 in NCAA Division II.
Ella Voit won the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:39.56.
Kylie Anderson finished third in the 10000m with a time of 35:47.09. Anderson now sits at the new rank of 47 in NCAA Division II.
Chloe Fratzke set a new personal best with a fourth-place finish in the high jump, jumping 5' 4.5" (1.64m) earning the new rank of 79 in NCAA Division II.
Ella Schueler finished tenth in the long jump, jumping 18' 0.5" (5.50m).
The Warriors are sitting at sixth place overall with 21 points heading into the last day of the Championships, tomorrow Saturday, May 9th.
