LAKE CITY, Minn. --- The Winona State men's and women's golf teams are set to return to the links at the Jewel invitational, hosted by Concordia-St. Paul at Jewel Golf Club, Sept. 21-22.
ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
The Jewel Golf Club is a par 71 that plays 7,050 yards for the men and 4,907 yards for the women. The event features 13 teams that includes 12 NSIC programs.
MEN'S OUTLOOK
The men's team opened its fall season at the Midwest/Central Regional Preview on Sept. 14-15 at The Meadows at Grand Valley State, where the Warrors took 15th overall with 905 strokes across three rounds.
NSIC Preseason Player of the Year
Javier Ramos Casariego led the Warriors, finishing 22nd overall with rounds of 74, 71 and 75 for a 7-over 220.
Max Jericho followed in a tie for 70th at 16-over 229 after rounds of 82, 76 and 71.
Logan Chouinard rounded out the Warriors' top three finishers, tying for 79th at 18-over 231 with rounds of 76, 76 and 79.
WOMEN'S OUTLOOK
The women's squad is coming off a 10th place finish at the MSU/CSP Fall Brawl that took place Sept. 14-15 at Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, Wis. The Warriors finished the event with 676 strokes.
Megan Young led the Warriors, placing 29th at the event with rounds of 87 and 77 for a +22 score.
Maeve McDougal (91, 79) and
Kendyl Conrad (90, 80) each placed in a tie for 43rd to earn the top three finishes for WSU.
