This Week's Storylines:

1. Winona State will close out its non-conference schedule on Tuesday against Viterbo University on Tuesdayand open up NSIC conference play on Saturday. The Warriors will take on the Viterbo V-Hawks Tuesday nightat 6 p.m. at McCown Gymnasium. The Warriors will open up conference play at home against the Upper Iowa Peacocks on Saturday at 4 p.m. in McCown Gymnasium.

2. The Warriors survived a scare on the road against the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds last Saturday. WSU defeated UWEC 62-57 at Zorn Arena in Eau Claire. The Warriors now hold a seven game nonconference winning streak.

3. The win did not come easy for the Warriors as they had to overcome a scoring drought that spanned 10 minutes and 27 seconds. WSU held a 40-23 advantage when the drought started and trailed 42-40 when the Warriors snapped it on a free throw by Emily Wirth. WSU went on a run of their own to close out the game. After trailing 55-51 with 3:51 to go, the Warriors went on an 11-2 run to pull out with a 62-57 victory.

4. Winona State had to overcome some poor second half shooting to come away with the victory. The Warriors shot 28-percent in the second half, but fortunately a stingy Warrior defense held the Blugolds to just 33-percent shooting in the second half. The Warriors sealed the victory from the free throw line, where theywent 10-of-12 as a team, including two free throw makes by Connor Nagle with five seconds remaining to give WSU a two-possession lead.

5. Junior transfer Alexis Foley made a big impact on her return to the Warriors lineup after missing the Trinity Christian game due to a head injury sustained in the Crown College game. Foley led the Warriors as the only player to score in double figures with 13 points, four assists and two steals.

6. Tuesday night's game marks the 16th meeting between Winona State and Viterbo University, with the series dating back to 1990. The Warriors have won 13 of the previous 15 meetings with the V-Hawks and have won the last nine meetings. WSU played Viterbo last season and defeated them in McCown Gymnasium 68-45.

7. Tara Roelofs will be looking to have a repeat performance of last year's game against the V-Hawks. Roelofs was WSU's second leading scorer in the game with 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting with two steals. Nagle broke into the WSU record book that game for tying the seventh most steals in a single game with seven.

8. Saturday night's matchup with Upper Iowa will provide an interesting test for the Warriors. WSU split the season series with the Peacocks last season. The Warriors lost at Upper Iowa 66-58, but avenged the loss with a 60-44 home win against Upper Iowa.

9. It will be the 23rd all-time meeting between the Warriors and Peacocks, with the series dating back to 1993. Winona State has a 20-2 record during that span. 17 of Winona State's 20 wins against the Peacocks have come since Upper Iowa joined the NSIC in 2005.
