Winona, Minn.- While most of the NCAA sports world is waiting to resume, fans and followers of
Winona State Athletics can still stay connected to their favorite teams with the
Warrior ReWind series.
Warrior ReWind stories seek to highlight notable performances by WSU teams, student-athletes, and coaches throughout the course of the proud history of
Winona State Athletics. Stay tuned over the next several weeks, as we revisit
Warrior points of pride from competitions involving all 14
WSU varsity athletic programs.
Earlier this spring, several
Warrior women's basketball student-athletes inked their names in the Warrior record book after leading
Winona State to a 17-11 overall record and 12-10 NSIC mark.
WSU played their way into the quarterfinal round of the
NSIC Tournament, defeating
Minnesota-Moorhead at home 8277 in a first-round match-up, before falling to the
University of Sioux Falls 71-59 at the Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in quarterfinal action.
Taylor Hustad, Allie Pickrain, Emily Kieck and Sydney Lodermeier each earned an entry into either single game and/or season records after some impressive outings for
Winona State in 2019-20.
Pickrain, a rising senior from
Apple Valley, owns the
Warrior floor from beyond the 3-point line, with each of her first three of her seasons in the top ten of 3-point field goals made.
Emily Kieck's penchant for finding teammates at the right time etched her name in the
Winona State assist record category, while teammate
Lodermeier was one of the most accurate 3-point shooters for head coach
Scott Ballard this past season.
Hustad - also a rising senior - was both active on the boards and accurate from the floor in adding her name to the record book with one campaign to go. The New Prague, Minnesota product notched five new 2019-20 marks.

Warrior Women's Basketball 2019-20 Highlights:
Taylor Hustad grabbed 222 rebounds in the 2019-20 campaign, which stands as the 11th best season in paint in
Warrior women's hoops history.
Hustad's junior year also saw her reach the No. 5 spot in Field Goal % (56.0) and was ninth total field goals made (178).
Emily Kieck registered 129 assists in 2019-20, which ties her for the 9th-best season ever with
Molly Anderson who hit the same mark in 2006-07.
Allie Pickrain hit 66 three-point buckets in 2019-20, her 3rd season which cracked the top ten in that category. In 2017-18,
Pickrain scored 74 three-point efforts and her 2018-19 campaign saw her 63 triples at No. 10 all-time. In 2017-18,
Pickrain was named
NSIC Freshman-of-the-Year.
Sydney Lodermeier was one of the most accurate long-distance shooters in Warrior history this past season, connecting on 46.2% of her three-point attempts, good for the 5th best season ever.

Tourney Time: Winona State has qualified for the
NCAA Division II tournament three times - 2009, 2011, 2016 - all under
Ballard. The
2011 squad captured the
NSIC Tournament crown
, while the 2016 team earned the regular-season hardware. The 2009 appearance was an At-Large selection.
Warm Up the Bus: In the 2015-16 season,
Winona State enjoyed a 10-1 mark on the road, winning .909 of their away contests.
Did You Know?:
Michelle McDonald, the all-time leader in Field Goal Percentage (57.2%) between 2008-12, was also named a
CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American in both 2010-11 and 2011-12. She was tabbed
CoSIDA Academic All-America Athlete of the Year following the 2011-12 season.
