Caitlin Riley racked up 23 points, including 15 points from behind the arc, to lead the Winona State women's basketball team to a 78-56 exhibition win over Viterbo University on Saturday, Nov. 13.
The Warriors out-scored the V-Hawks in the first and fourth quarters to claim their second win in as many days, as
Taylor Hustad and
Lauren Fech chipped in double-digit scoring efforts. Hustad had 14 points and six rebounds, while Fech hit for 11 points. Kendall Cox added seven points for WSU; as a team, the Warriors shot 50% for the game and were 36.7% from 3-point land.
Winona State out-rebounded Viterbo 33-20, while both teams had five steals in the game. For the Warriors, the win concluded their exhibition season and will now prepare to play McKendree University and Quincy University on Friday, Nov. 19 and Saturday, Nov. 20 in Quincy, Ill. The trip to the Land of Lincoln is the first of six road games to start the 2021-22 regular season for Winona State.
