St. Paul, Minn. - The Winona State University women's track and field team turned in several standout performances at the Concordia - St. Paul Sea Foam Stadium, taking part in the Holst Invitational on Saturday, April 17.
Brooklyn Schyvinck won the 400-meter dash with an impressive time of 56.17, the fifth-fasted 400 meter time in school history. Teammate
Allison Waterman earned a fourth-place mark of 59.80.
Also winning her event was
Kalley Harris, who dominated the women's 400-meter hurdle field, running a 1:00.85 time, nearly five seconds faster than the second place finisher, Cassidy Wilson of Upper Iowa. Harris' mark is the second-fastest 400-meter hurdle effort in WSU history, with just Deidra Faber's 59.98 mark in 2005 ahead of Harris 100.85.
Emma Breitsprecher finished fourth in the same race, coming in at 1:08.44.
In the 10,000-meter run, Alli Hendrickson took fifth place with a time of 38:39.34, less than one minute of the winning time of 37:41.37, earned by Minnesota State's Lily Paul. WSU's
Carly Vandenhouten finished with a time of 41:21.47, while teammate
Katie Lorenz came in at 43:30.28. For Hendrickson, her 37:41.37 time is now fifth all-time in the Warrior record book.
In the 100-meter prelims,
Emma Breitsprecher ran a 16.04 time, while in the 800-meter run,
Lindsay Cunningham had a fifth-place time of 2:20.53.
Brittany Quiring ran a 2:30.84 for Winona State in the 800-meters, as well.
Five Warriors took part in the women's 1500 run, with
Lindsay Cunningham winning the event at 4:41.23.
Natalie Nowatzke was second at 4:57.46, while
Andrea Fromelt and
Katie Miller turning in times of 5:13.91 and 5:14.78, respectively.
Rachel Hoffman ran a 5:41.05 for head coach
Mason Rebarchek and Winona State.
The Warrior track and field team will be in action next on Saturday, April 24, when they host the River City Rumble at Paul Giel Field in Winona, Minn.
