WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University women's track and field program hosted the River City Rumble meet on Saturday, providing a showcase for several men's and women's standout performances.
Head coach
Mason Rebarchek and his Warrior team are approximately three weeks out from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) outdoor championships to be held in Duluth, Minn., and over 25 WSU student-athletes took to Paul Giel Field in one of their final preparations of the spring. In addition, men and women from Bemidji State University, Concordia - St. Paul, St. Cloud State University, Minnesota State - Mankato, the University of Minnesota - Duluth and the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.
In terms of team scores, Winona State finished in second place at 145, ahead of Minnesota State - Mankato at 107.5, UMD with 59, and St. Cloud State at 55.5. Bemidji State edged Concordia - St. Paul, as the Beavers finished with 49 points and the Golden Bears with 46. The University of Wisconsin - La Crosse won the event with 215 total points.
Leading the way for the Warriors was Alli Hendrickson,
Michaela Pryor and
Brooklyn Schyvinck and who won individual first place honors, as well as the women's 4X400 relay team of
Kalley Harris,
Kendall Zeman,
Maddy Pietz and Schyvinck, who beat all contenders in the final race of the night.
Allison Hendrickson championship time of 18:05.49 in the 5000 meters placed her in the Warrior Top 10, coming in at the seventh-best all-time. With her 11.95 time in the 100 meter,
Michaela Pryor tied her all-time best mark in the event, which is the fifth-fastest ever run at Winona State.
In addition to being a part of the first place 4X400 relay team,
Maddy Pietz performed well in the women's 200, placing second, while teammates
Brooklyn Schyvinck and
Shereen Vallabouy turned in times of 25.49 and 25.72, respectively.
Kalley Harris hit a 1:01.32 mark in the 400-meter hurdles, good for second place, while
Kendall Zeman had a 1:04.38 in the same race. In addition to Harris' runner-up finish,
Lindsay Cunningham had a 4:44.57 time in the women's 1500, also a Warrior second place finish.
Carly Vandenhouten claimed runner up behind Hendrickson in the 5,000 meters with a 19:23.58 time.
Katie Lorenz (19:33.21) and
Rachel Hoffman (21:54.00) were third and fifth in the 5,000 meters as well.
Winona State had several quality marks in the field events, including
Xana Leum taking second in the women's triple jump with a 37'-08.00" (11.48-m) effort, just ahead of
Ashlie Lockington at 37.50.00 (11.40 m) coming in at third place. Lockington took second in the long jump at 17-09.50 (5.42 m), while
Kaylee Olson was fifth at 17'-02.25" (5.24 m).
In addition to the women's 4X400 meter relay team championship performance, the WSU 4X100 team took second place.

Kaylee Olson had a 46.83 time, which is the fourth-fastest time ever by a Warrior 4X100 team.
Winona State will next compete on May 1 when they travel to Minnesota State - Mankato for a multi-team event, the first of two May meets hosted by the Mavericks.
