AUSTIN, Texas – Winona State volleyball standout Megan Flom has been named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II volleyball team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The senior from Kenyon, Minn., earned third team All-America honors with a 3.94 GPA as an Elementary Education major.

In 2019 - the most recent Warrior campaign - Flom set a WSU program record in hitting percentage at .391 which ranked eighth nationally that season. She was also third in the NSIC in hitting percentage (.443) and ninth in kills/set (3.81). The Kenyon-Wanamingo High School product led the Warriors with 358 kills.

Following the 2019 campaign in which Winona State finished 21-8 overall and 13-7 in the NSIC, Flom became just the third American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America selection in the history of the Winona State program.  She has earned CoSIDA Academic All-District status the past two seasons and was tabbed to the 2020 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Fall All-Academic Team of Excellence.  The 6'2" outside hitter was a part of the Warrior squad that earned AVCA Team Academic honors in 2020 as well.

Flom is the first Winona State volleyball CoSIDA Academic All-America selection since Lauren Brown earned the award in 2009.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Division II Academic All-America® program.  Based on the absence of most fall sports competition, the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Committee revised some rules and procedures for nominating student-athletes this season. Due to the low percentage of matches completed this season, the nominees were selected based on career statistics and achievements.
