Winona State selected third in NSIC women's cross country poll

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Winona State University women's cross-country team is keen to start the 2021 Warrior campaign, under the direction of new head coach, John Hibshman.   As a team, the program was tabbed to finish third by NSIC head coaches.

WSU will be paced by Lindsay Cunningham, picked as the Winona State Cross Country Athlete-to-Watch this year.  Also a Warrior standout in track and field, Cunningham claimed a fifth place NSIC 5K finish in the 2021 Winona State track and field season. Overall, WSU is a young team with two-thirds of the squad in their junior year or younger.

Coach Hibshman said, “Lindsay is coming off of a great outdoor track season. She dropped her mile time by over 20 seconds and she finished fifth in the NSIC 5k Championships. Her training has been consistent and she is only going to get better.”
