Brady Holland earns NSIC honors in men's golf

WINONA, Minn. - Brady Holland has earned the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Golfer of the Week award after an impressive showing at the Watkins Invitational.

Holland, a freshman from Elk River, Minn., helped lead the Warriors to a victory at the Watkins Invitational on Sept. 27-28.  This is the second straight year that Winona State has won their home event.

Holland shot a two-under par 70 in the first round, which led the field after day one.  In the second round, Holland came out firing, scoring birdies on the first three holes.  Finishing round two with a one-under par 71 led Holland to a second place finish individually, shooting a two-round total of three-under par 141.

During the Watkins Invitational, Holland had a field-leading 10 birdies. He played exceptionally well on the par-5s, shooting seven-under par, including an eagle in round one.

Holland and the Warriors will be in action next on October 4-5 at the Viterbo Invitational in La Crosse, Wis.
