This weekend will be the first time WSU faces NSIC North Division foes in conference action. The NSIC will have cross-division matchups for four straight weekends before returning to division play

Winona State will look to extend their winning streak to seven games over Minnesota Crookston, as they have not fallen to the Golden Eagles since 2014. During that time, WSU has outscored UMC by 93 total points, including five double-digit victories.

Minnesota Crookston has just one win this season, which came on the road in Honolulu, Hawai'i, against Chaminade. UMC also took on #2 Lubbock Christian during their trip to the Aloha State, but fell 62-42.

Due to the Covid-altered NSIC schedule in 2020-21,  Winona State and Minnesota Crookston last faced off 722 days ago on January 17, 2020. The Warriors took that one by 20 points, prevailing 75-55 over the Golden Eagles.

Minnesota Crookston had Winona State's number between Nov. 28, 2009 and Feb. 19, 2011, beating the Warriors five straight times. Since then, Winona State is 10-1 against UMC.

Emma Fee was a bright spot for Winona State in last evening's game vs. Bemidji State, scoring 14 points, while Alex Dornfeld and Taylor Hustad hauled in six rebounds apiece.

Hustad also had 11 points vs. BSU, while Caitlin Riley scored nine.

Emily Kieck's 26-point effort most recently against UIU included a 6-for-6 streak at the foul line. She was one of three Warriors who made all their free throws in the game, with Caitlin Riley and Mattie Schimenz both going 2-for-2 as well.

Although quiet in the scoring column vs. Upper Iowa, Taylor Hustad tied a season-high assist mark (4) in the game and hauled in nine rebounds, her second-highest rebound mark of the year.

Emily Kieck is making the most of her final season, leading the Warriors with 11.8 points/game. Kieck matched a career-high with 26 points on 9-17 shooting against Upper Iowa last weekend, and has scored in double-figures for five consecutive games.

The Golden Eagles are 1-13 overall and have yet to earn a conference win, where they are 0-8 in the NSIC.

UMC's lone win came on a trip to Hawai'i, where they defeated Chaminade University 56-32.

Most recently, UMC traveled to Bemidji State on Jan. 2 and lost to the Beavers for the second time this season, 48-70.
