WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University women's basketball team will play a pair of home contests this week - including a key NSIC contest - as WSU hosts Viterbo University Monday, Nov. 28 and Minnesota State - Mankato Thursday, Dec. 1.
Both Winona State women's basketball contests this week will tip off at 5:30 pm in McCown Gymnasium, home of WNB Financial Court.
Winona State is off to a 6-0 start on the season and are 1-0 in NSIC action, following a 78-45 victory over Upper Iowa on Nov. 22.
Viterbo University will bring a 1-5 mark on the season into their non-conference contest at WSU, while Minnesota State enters the week unbeaten at 5-0 and ranked No. 6 in the WBCA Coaches Poll.

WINONA STATE STORYLINES
- WSU is 6-0 on the season and ranked No. 7 in the current D2SIDA Central Region Poll.
- Alex Dornfeld has had three successive double-double performances in her past four games.
- Dornfeld scored 19 points in a NSIC win against Upper Iowa, while also grabbing nine rebounds.
- Caitlin Riley scored 16 points versus the Peacocks, including an impressive 4-for-4 effort from 3-point range.
- WSU went 9-of-13 (69.2%) from behind the arc as a team against UIU, their best mark on the 2022-23 season so far.

Minnesota State - Mankato STORYLINES
- MSU-Mankato started the season 5-0 and are tied for first in the NSIC North with WSU, Augustana and SMSU.
- Joey Batt leads the Mavericks with a 17.2 ppg average.
- Natalie Bremer adds on 12.8 points/game for Minnesota State.
- Molly Ihle leads the team in rebounding, with a 5.6 rpg mark.
- MSU-Mankato averages 83.4 points per outing and holds opponents to 56.6 ppg.
- Head coach Emilee Thiesse has been in charge of the Mavericks since 2012.
WARRIOR NOTABLES
- The Warriors were selected 11th overall and 5th in the NSIC South by coaches around the league.
- Head coach Ana Wurtz and assistant coach Hannah McGlone are the only all-female coaching staff in the NSIC that also competed at their alma mater as student-athletes.
- The Warriors' 6-0 start is the best opening stretch of games since the 2015-16 season, where WSU started 13-0.
