MANKATO, Minn. - Winona State University track and field standout
Brooklyn Schyvinck has earned the 2023 Outstanding Senior of the Year Award, as announced by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) on Sunday, Feb. 26.
Schyvinck, a senior from Reedsburg, Wis., has earned All-America honors on five occasions and won both individual and relay team NSIC championships during her Warrior career. The WSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee member has also earned Academic All-American four times and earned NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award honors.
Over the weekend in Mankato, Schyvinck was a major part of the Winona State third-place finish, including running a leg of the NSIC Championship 4X400 relay won by the Warriors with a time of 3:49.17. Schyvinck also claimed third place in the 400 meters with a time of 56.21, the seventh-fastest 400-meter time ever by a Winona State student-athlete and just .3 seconds off her career-best of 55.91 in the race.
Next up for Schyvinck and Winona State is the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, held in Virginia Beach, Va. on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11.
