MANKATO, Minn. – The Winona State University women's track and field team returns to familiar territory when they travel to Minnesota State for a two-day event over Friday, Feb. 10, and Saturday, Feb. 11 in Myers Field House in Mankato, Minn.
Winona State is coming off a strong performance at the Lewis University Invitational last weekend, were Shereen Vallabouy and Kaylee Beyer both set new all-time best marks in the 400 meters (52.87) and the one-mile run (4:50.19) respectively. Following the strong weekend in Chicago, Winona State is ranked ninth in the nation this week as a team in the NCAA Division II ranks and several Warriors reside at or near the top of individual events as well.
Shereen Vallabouy is first in all of NCAA Division II indoor track and field in the 400-meters and is joined by Lindsay Cunningham is No.1 in the country in the 5,000 run with a time of 16:06.16. Cunningham also holds a Top-10 time in the 3,000 meters (9:35.58), while Kaylee Beyer is 11th in the 800-meters (2:13.54) and 16th in the mile run.
Vallabouy also anchors the Warrior 4X400 relay team that is ranked 2nd in NCAA Division II; Vallabouy, Regan Feit, Alyssa Larson and Brooklyn Schyvinck own a 3:46.20 time in the event. In the field events, Xana Leum is 22nd in the nation in the triple jump with a best effort of 11.86m (38'11").
