WINONA, Minn. -
Lindsay Cunningham was named as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second straight week, following an outstanding individual and team performance at the 2023 Greeno/Dirksen Invite, co-hosted by the University of Nebraska and Nebraska Wesleyan University on Saturday, Sep. 16.
Cunningham's most recent honor follows a week in which she defeated the top runners from the University of Nebraska, Iowa State, Creighton and several other NCAA Division I schools. Cunningham ran a 5k time of 16:07.2 and was one of two Warriors crossing the finish line before any NCAA Division I athletes, as Warrior teammate
Kaylee Beyer took runner up honors in the competition.
With the win, Cunningham remained undefeated in all regular season competitions for Winona State and led WSU to the team championship in the competitions Gold Division. Cunningham and Winona State are next in action on Saturday, Oct. 7 when they travel to Romeoville, Ill. for the 2023 Lewis Crossover.
