WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University women's cross country has qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championships held in Sacramento, Calif. on Saturday, November 23.
The Warriors earned an at-large bid into the championships after a fourth-place finish at the 2024 NCAA Division II Central Region Championships.
Sophia Taarud led the team with an individual runner-up finish,
McKenna Taylor finished 11th, and
Ella Voit came across the line in 21st. Taarud, Taylor, and Voit each earned All-Region honors for their performances.
WSU, currently ranked 19th in the nation and fourth in the central region, is making their third-straight appearance as a team at the Championships. In 2021, the Warriors finished 11th overall and then followed it up with a fifth-place finish in 2023.
The 2024 championships will be held Saturday, November 23 at Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento, California. Sacramento Sports Commission and California Collegiate Athletic Association will serve as the host. The women's race will begin at 1:15pm CST.
