SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Winona State University women's cross country team competed at the 2024 NCAA DII Cross Country Championships finishing 14th in a 34 team field, with
Sophia Taarud finishing top 25 for the Warriors.
Sophia Taarud led the way for the Warriors, taking home a 22nd place finish with a time of 21:07.7. Finishing shortly behind was senior,
McKenna Taylor in 31st place with a time of 21:17.4, followed by
Kylie Anderson cracking the top 100 with a time of 22:06.9. Finishing after Anderson was
Ella Voit and
Violet Schulteis with times of 22:23.6 and 23:13.6. Rounding out the Winona State squad would be
Stella Rusch and
Madeline Palmer with times of 23:15.1 and 24:01.8.Â
As a team Winona State finished in 14th place earning 405 points as a team. Adams State would take home the first place finish earning 61 points with their top five runners all finishing within the top 20.
