BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Five Winona State football student-athletes were named to the 2024 NSIC All-Conference Teams, as announced by the league today.
Sylvere Campbell (WR),
Noah Pappas (OL), and
Kyjuan Vengrowsky (DL) were each named to the First Team All-NSIC.
Myles Hawthorne (LB) and
Cair'ron Hendred (RB) were Second Team All-NSIC honorees.
Campbell, a senior from Milwaukee, Wis., led the Warriors in receiving with 51 receptions and six touchdowns. Campbell averaged 83.60 receiving yards per game, which was second in the conference.
Pappas, a junior from Plymouth, Minn., started all 11 games for the Warriors. Pappas anchored the WSU offensive line that helped Winona State rush for 1,878 yards on the season and throw for 223.64 yards per game.
Vengrowsky, a redshirt junior from De Pere, Wis., tallied a team-high 5.5 sacks for a total of 29 yards. Vengrowsky also collected 43 total tackles and 8.5 tackles for a loss with a team-best 11 quarterback hurries.
Hawthorne, a senior from Osseo, Minn., was second on the team with 49 total tackles. Hawthorne collected 2.5 TFL and one sack. He also garnered one interception and three pass breakups from the linebacker position.
Hendred, a redshirt junior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, led the Warriors on the ground with 104 rushing attempts for 53.6 yards/game. Hendred scored seven rushing touchdowns on the season and had two games with multiple scores.
The Warriors finished the 2024 season with a 5-6 overall record and a 5-5 NSIC record.
