MANKATO, Minn. - The Winona State University Warriors opened their 2024-25 indoor track and field season at the Chuck Peterson Open hosted by Minnesota State, Mankato.
Winona State went into their first meet competing with Minnesota State, Mankato, St. Olaf, Bethany Lutheran, and Mass Velocity in numerous events at the Chuck Peterson Open.
The Warriors started their indoor season strong starting with the 60m hurdles, where
Hanna Reichenberger had a time of 9.04 followed by
Stella Richter, who recorded a time of 9.41. Grace Johnson from Minnesota State, Mankato finished with the best time in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.52. In the 60m dash, WSU had
Caitlyn Casella recording a time of 7.95 in her first collegiate meet.
Finishing the 400m race,
Regan Feit earned herself a time of 58.28 earning a second place finish behind Eilika Lane from MSU, who finished 56.48.
Alyssa Larson finished shortly after Feit earning a fourth place finish with a time of 59.43. Winona State had a who group of runners in the 200m race with Casella leading the way finishing second with a time of 26.48 right behind MSU's Robynn Rolle-Curry.
The Warriors where victorious in the long jump, where
MacKenzie Wissbroecker took first place with a 5.77m jump in her first collegiate meet. Rounding out the events for WSU, Hanna Reichberger took fourth place in the triple jump, going 11.70m.
The Winona State Univeristy Warriors will be back in action on Friday, January 17, where the Warriors will compete in the Bearson/Gathje Classic hosted by Minnesota State, Mankato in Mankato, Minn.
