WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University women's basketball team will host Augustana University on Friday, February 9, and Wayne State College on Saturday, February 10. The Warrior-Viking showdown will start at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and the WSU – WSC matchup will see a 3:30 p.m. tip on Saturday.
Winona State (6-16, 5-12 NSIC) faces an Augustana team who ranks just above them in the NSIC standings. On Saturday, the Warriors will face a Wayne State team which sits one spot below them in the conference. AU enters the weekend losing three of their last four games, while Wayne State comes off a pair of overtime losses at home in their last three games and will play the Mavericks in Mankato on Friday before the Warriors make their way to McCown Gymnasium, home of WNB Financial Court.
Leading the Warriors on the season is Olivia Gamoke with 9.8 points per game, while being first on the team in total assists (31) too. Alex Dornfeld is just behind Gamoke in points per game (8.7) while also leading the team in rebounds (7.3). Dornfeld's 7.3 rebounds per game puts her at 5th in the conference.
