MANKATO, Minn. - The Winona State University track & field made the trip out to Minnesota State University, Mankato for the Bearson/Gathje Classic and showed their talent.
The Warriors showed what they were made of at the Bearson/Gathje Classic with several Warriors placing and breaking records. Starting with the Women's 600m race,
Regan Feit took second place with a time of 1:37.86. In the Women's one mile,
Sophia Taarud took first-place with a time 4:56.59, which was eight second ahead of the second-place runner, Madeline Verkerke from Minnesota Duluth.
In the 800m race,
Jenna Anders took first-place with a time of 2:23.76, finishing just under a second ahead of MSU's Makalya Bishop. Sam Harke competed in the 1000m race and took first-place with a time of 3:02.92, which was just milliseconds ahead of Nyadio Chan of CSP.
Kylie Anderson took first-place in 3000m race recording a time of 10:10.37, which was 12 second ahead of Maverick's Madison Matzek.
Going into the field events,
MacKenzie Wissbroecker took home second place with a distance of 6.02m, which broke the Winona State University long jump record and also earns her a ranking of fourth place in NCAA Division II long jump ranking, right behind former National Champion Makayla Jackson from Minnesota State, Mankato. Rounding out the field events for the Warriors,
Hanna Reichenberger took home third place in the triple jump with a distance of 11.77m.
The Winona State University Warriors track & field will be back on the road heading to UW-La Crosse to compete in the Pat Healy Classic on Saturday, January 25 with the first race of the meet set to start at 12 p.m.
