ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Winona State women's cross country swept the top five and had eight runners finish in the top ten en route to a team victory at the Griffon Invite, hosted by Missouri Western State.
The Warriors earned a perfect team score of 15 points, taking the first five spots across the finish line.
Sophia Taarud collected her second consecutive victory, running to a time of 17:25.46.
Kylie Anderson finished second in 17:45.75 while
Ella Voit and
Stella Rusch crossed the finish line in half a second of each other with times of 18:29.36 and 18:29.85, respectively.
Kelsey Young rounded out the top five for Winona State with a time of 18:36.43.
Alli McCaughtry,
Libby Ray, and
Lexi Terwedo each finished in the top 10 to provide depth for the Warriors in the race.
Winona State will race next at the NSIC Championships on Friday, October 24th in Wayne, Neb.
