WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University football team prepares to play the University of Mary on November 8th at 12:00pm in Bismarck N.D.
The NSIC matchup will feature the Marauders who defeated Minot State, 36-21, last week. The Warriors fell on the road to Sioux Falls, 49-24, a week ago in Sioux Falls S.D.
Winona State won the most recent matchup against the Marauders 48-7, on October 12th, 2024.
Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors (4-5, 4-4 NSIC) enter the 2025 season voted to finish ninth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Brian Curtin is in his first year as head coach of the Warriors.
- WSU finished 2-3 on the road last season and 2-4 in 2023.
- Winona State is 8-1 all time against UMary, including winning the last eight matchups with the Marauders.
- Quarterback Jackson Flottmeyer will look to bounce back after last week's loss. Flottmeyer is 148-of-248 for 1,622 yards and 18 total touchdowns on the 2025 campaign.
- Jahmani Muhammad has been finding a groove for the Warriors. Muhammad has run for over 120 yards in each of the last two games.
- Receivers Nolan Ginskey and Joe Sikma are set to usher the receiving attack. Ginskey leads the squad with 455 receiving yards on 35 catches. Sikma has a team-leading 40 receptions for 434 yards. Both wideouts have four touchdowns apiece on the 2025 season.
- The defense will turn to Conner Haggerty to limit the UMary offensive attack that comes in averaging 28.4 points a game. Haggerty is leading the NSIC with 6.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.
- Blake Schraufnagel is a huge component to the Warriors defense as well. Schraufnagel leads the team with 62 tackles on the year.
- As a team, the Warriors have 58 TFLs and 26 sacks on the 2025 campaign.
- Evan Swanstrom is 4-for-5 on field goals this season.
- Winona State is undefeated when giving up less than 20 points a game.
Following this week's game, the Warriors host their regular season finally against Southwest Minnesota State University on November 15th. Kickoff is set for 12:00pm at Altra Federal Credit Union in Winona, Minn.

- On the ground, the Marauders Xavier Brackenridge is leading the team's backfield. Brackenridge has amassed 488 yards on 110 carries this season with three rushing TDs.
