MANKATO, Minn. - The Winona State University track & field team wrapped up their indoor season at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Indoor Track & Field Championship on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 hosted by Minnesota State, Mankato.
The Warriors made the trip out to Mankato, Minn. where they finished sixth out of 15 teams collecting 37 points. WSU started collecting points on Friday where
MacKenzie Wissbroecker took home second place in the long jump with a distance of 5.85m. Winona State then placed second in the distance melody with the performance of
Samantha Harke,
Alyssa Larson,
Jenna Anders, and
Kylie Anderson earning a time of 11:57.29 where Anderson anchored and earned the third best time in program history. In the 5000m race,
McKenna Taylor took home fifth place with a time of 17:39.97 and Stella Rusch took home seventh place with a time of 17:50.55 to round out day one at the NSIC Indoor Championship.
On day two in field events,
Hanna Reichenberger took fourth place in the triple jump with a distance of 12.25m. In the high jump,
Mari Mohling finished in a three-way tie for 15th with a height of 1.55m along with USF's Erika Imdieke and SCSU's Kinsey Mohwinkle. In day two of track events,
Samantha Harke and
Mara Talabac competed in the one mile race earning a tenth place finish with a time of 5:08.72 and 13th place with a time of 5:27.05.
Jenna Anders competed in the 800m race finishing eighth with a time of 2:21.32. In the 3000m race
Kylie Anderson took home third place with a time of 9:59.97,
Ella Voit placed 12th with a time of 10:23.07,
Lexi Terwedo took 15th with a time of 10:26.03, and Violet Schulteis took 18th with a time of 10:34.76. Rounding out the NSIC Championships with the 4x400m relay,
Karissa Birch,
Jenna Anders,
Alyssa Larson, and
Regan Feit took home sixth place with a time of 3:57.14.
The Winona State University track & field team finished their indoor season placing sixth as a team at the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend and look to set their eyes on the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships.
